UNIPILOT services include the Pilots, the Operations Center personnel of the Pilotage Station for various types of ships and boats, and also the Administration, which exercises its functions to collaborate directly to the success of the process, as well as maintaining a permanent program of investments for professional training of the entire team. This all contributes to providing extremely safe, highly technical services, which are extremely important requirements for the customers and the environment.

Head Office

UNIPILOT inaugurated in 2006 its new Administrative Headquarters in the penthouse of one of the most important business centers in Belém, Pará – the Palladium Center. Due to its modern concept it provides all the necessary facilities for its professional staff with standardized modern work stations. The space includes the president’s office, administration, financial department, operations center, meeting room and a space for get-together events.

The Operations Center is operated 24 hours a day, every day of the year, by bilingual operators and includes sophisticated radio equipment, computer systems for registering and making ship traffic data available, plus data on tides, weather conditions, among others that are indispensible for effective and efficient pilotage operations, including emergency situations. Safety is guaranteed by collecting and integrating the information related to the Pilotage Zone every moment, by contacting the Pilots and users to inform on the existing conditions, and by the uninterrupted availability of the Center for receiving and attending users’ requests. Ship traffic and UNIPILOT Pilot’s boat movement are monitored by the Operations Center.

The Macapá Pilotage Station (Atalaia)

This is the operating structure providing, coordinating, controlling and giving support to the Pilots in the performance of Pilotage services. UNIPILOT operates an Atalaia installed in Macapá, State of Amapá.

At this location, qualified bilingual operators are on 24-hour duty, 365 days per year, operating communications equipment that is capable of providing support to all types of vessels that navigate within our Pilotage Zone.

Pilot’s Boats

Pilotage motorboats and crew guarantee passage, boarding and transfer of Pilots from and to ships that are to be maneuvered. Due to the peculiar nature of the work to be carried out by the pilotage motorboats and the level of safety required for the crew and the Pilot, these vessels are designed and built specifically for that purpose.

UNIPILOT owns four modern safe and fast motorboats that are standardized and authorized by the Maritime Authority, the National Pilotage Council (CONAPRA), and are equipped with VHF, radar, depth gauges, GPS and operated by duly qualified professionals.
